The history of the castle finds its origins linked to those of the Collalto family, who during his stay in Treviso founded the two famous castles of Collalto and San Salvatore. San Salvatore is considered one of the biggest in northern Italy, remained impregnable throughout the Middle Ages, and during the Golden Age of the Serenissima, it hosted various artists, from painters and poets to musicians. Following a meticulous restoration, due to the conditions in which the plexus fell during the First World War, the castle is now back to its medieval magnificence, and is home to various types of events.
The ancient village and the glimpses of the castle, the wonderful natural landscape in which the hill is immersed are an ideal setting for concerts and parades, exhibitions, shows, ceremonies, special evenings, parties and gala dinners. The large frescoed halls, equipped with avant-garde technology, managed by highly qualified personnel, are the ideal venue for conventions, congresses and business meetings.
Inside the castle there is also a wonderful historical residence, Palazzo Odeardo, built during 700 by Count Odeardo. Inside the palace you can stay in a wonderful suite finely furnished and equipped with services.
The castle of San Salvatore is open all year on reservation. The tours are carried out exclusively accompanied by the tourist guides of the structure and are available in different languages. For information, bookings, guided tours, events, see the website.
